Push Talks Speakers

So, you think you're funny, do you?
Reckon you can hold an audience of sixth formers without soiling yourself?
Been to Uni?
Still a student?
Interested in stand up comedy?

If the answer’s yes – great. Push is looking for the freshest minds and sharpest wits to join its team of expert speakers. If you’re an aspiring stand-up this is a great gig with a safety net. But this is no ordinary lecture. If you think you can entertain and inform an audience of 6th formers without choking, we want to hear from you.

You’ll need to be a current student or recent graduate from a UK university, confident at speaking in public, and most importantly have the enthusiasm to melt even the toughest crowd.

After an audition/interview and initial training in London, you’ll be sent to schools and college in your area. These positions are paid and are flexible/part time, in order to fit around studies.

Skills Required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Confident in speaking in front of a big audience. Good sense of humour. An inkling about Higher Education would be a bonus, but we’ll pump you with knowledge and give you all the training you need to get this road show, er, on the road.

There is also a chance to develop your event management skills by helping us with our outreach to schools. This would involve contacting and arranging school sessions, and is a role that can be developed separately or as part of your training as a Push Talks speaker.

What Next?
Send a cover letter and a copy of your CV to talks@push.co.uk. We hold auditions and interviews at our offices in Vauxhall, London throughout the year.

Hi Push, My name is Christine and I currently work as a Student Finance Presenter, visiting sixth forms and colleges with the aim to engage with the students and parents, delivering a message to the audience. I graduated last Summer with a first in journalism and am interested in any editorial positions you have available? I really enjoy the audience-facing side of my current job, but am looking to further my career combining my passion for education and in general the English language. I would be grateful if you could let me know of any current vacancies that you think might suit my skills, as I am looking for opportunities in the presenting and editorial side of work. My email address is christinediffey@gmail.com and would be me than happy to send you over my C.V. Kind regards, Christine Diffey
